2011 MSRC Award Recipients
The Emanuel Makros Award is given by the MSRC Board of Directors to the Respiratory Care Practitioner of the Year. The Markros Award is given in memory of the late Emanuel Makros of Boston, who, although terminally ill continued to work at his profession, given exemplary care to his patients and in general upholding the highest ideals of the profession of Respiratory Care. The Emauel Makros Award has been given annually since 1975.
2011 recipient: Kevin Strong, RRT-NPS
Kevin has been a respiratory therapist for 44 years. He is currently Senior
Therapist and Advanced Clinician at Mass General Hospital, where he has
worked for 23 years. His areas of professional interest
include adult critical
care, ECMO, and electronic medical records.
The Clarence E. Smith Award is presented by the MSRC Board of Directors to the outstanding sales representative for service to the respiratory therapy profession. The Clarence E. Smith award has been given annually since 1975.
