Attendance

Call to order

  • The meeting was called to order by President Stella Farquharson

Minutes

  • The minutes were accepted with the correction of President Stella Farquharson having adjourned the February meeting

Treasurer

  • Ken Volovick reviewed the MSRC budget

Delegates

  • No report

Membership

  • Gina Farquharson is working with Laura Lusky on a membership drive.

Nominations

  • Nominations are still being accepted

Program & Education

  • Speakers who receive compensation before speaking at the convention must sign a contract.

Scholarships

  • MA schools have expressed willingness to have MSRC representatives speak to them about scholarships and our organization.  Laura Lusky offered to contact Massasoit CC.  Gina Farquharson offered to speak too.

Med. Dir.

  • No report

MTS

  • Cindy Bowman notes that there is a meeting on March 30th of the MTS.
  • The American Lung Association is considering writing a letter of support for our home heathcare bill
  • The idea of offering monetary awards to pulmonary fellows was raised.

Pub. Rel.

·         Joe Curro continues to use his mailing list of department directors to spread news about MSRC functions.

Pneumonics

  •  No report

PACT

  • Michael Jackson is now a member of the AARC Ad Hoc Committee on Home Health
  • Follow up letters are to be written to congressmen who were seen by the PACT team in Washington DC.
  • Stella wants PACT info for state department heads, the MSRC BOD and the MSRC P&E.

Neo. Pedi

  • Lauren is currently organizing meetings for 2005.

HP DP

  • Stella Farquharson proposes that scholarship awards be designed for Camp Chestnut workers.
  • Joe Curro will be looking into Camp Chestnut publicity.

Rehab.

Budget & Audit

  • The MSRC will continue to make use of an outside auditor.
  • A survey was initiated to discern
    1. how many MSRC computers are still functional
    2. how old they are
    3. who possesses them currently.

Old Business

  • Stella Farquharson asks for finalization of the 2005 budget.

New Business

  • Scott Monroe attended the “President’s Meeting” in Dallas. The AARC made a series of presentations on the state of the organization.
  • Michael Jackson will look into using on-line payment for the 2006 annual meeting.

AARC

  • Concern is expressed regarding education of sonographers.  Stella Farquharson notes that agendas of sonography legislation have been aggressively pursued nationally.
