The MSRC Board of Directors would like to announce the date and location for our annual business meeting. It will be held on December 14th, 2017 at 5:00 pm. The location will be New England Sinai Hospital, 150 York Street, Stoughton, MA 02072.

Following a successful Advocacy Hill Day in April, we’re excited there are now three telehealth bills in Congress that include respiratory care services and respiratory therapists among the professionals covered to provide telehealth. Two of the bills also include remote patient monitoring for individuals with chronic conditions such as COPD. The next step is to get co-sponsors for these bills.
Jason Moury, of Winchendon, Mass., was named this year’s recipient of Northern Essex Community College’s Outstanding Alumni Award at the college’s 55th annual Commencement Exercises on May 20. Selected by the NECC Alumni Association, the Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes an NECC graduate who has achieved career-related success, is active in the community and/or has exemplified active support for the college’s efforts.
The AARC was saddened to learn of the death of Paul Mathews, PhD, RRT, FCCM, FCCP, FAARC. Dr. Mathews passed away on May 25 after a long illness.

Northern Essex Community College’s respiratory care program just became the first in the state to possess a bronchoscope that will help students prepare for their role in setting up and assisting doctors performing bronchoscopies.
The AARC has launched its Virtual Lobby Week webpage in preparation for the AARC's 18th annual Capitol Hill Advocacy Day on April 4.
The MSRC Planning and Education Committee is excited to announce the 2017 annual conference dates. This year's conference will be taking place October 24 and 25, 2017 at the DCU Center in Worcester. Save the date, and plan to join the ceebration.
Our fellow RTs in Iowa are set to defend our profession in their state. This is not an isolated issue, with Texas and Michigan having had the same fight within the last few years.
