Submission Deadline for MPS2017 Award Abstracts and Cases: Friday, January 27, 2017.

AWARD ABSTRACTS: The Massachusetts Pulmonary Section Research Committee announces its 36th Annual Awards and is calling for clinical and basic science abstract submissions.  Selected abstracts will be presented orally to the plenary audience at the MPS Annual Meeting (on March 22, 2017) and will be honored with an award (up to $500). Submission is open to all health professionals but preference will be given to current fellows and other health professionals in training. Abstracts can have been previously accepted or currently submitted to a national meeting. Abstracts should be submitted using the online submission form available at this page and abstract files should be emailed to mcaul@lungne.org by the January 27, 2017 deadline.

BEST CASES: There is also an opportunity to submit your best or most interesting cases of the past year for lively discussion and deliberation at MPS2017, at our 'L. Jack Faling Best Case Session' to be moderated this year by John Unterborn, MD.  An award will be presented for the best presented case. Cases can be submitted either as an overview document describing the case for consideration, or as a set of slides.  Please use the online submission form and guidelines available here and send case to mcaul@lungne.org by the January 27, 2017 deadline.

Additionally, I would like to enlist your help with the Chadwick Medal nominations.

THE 2017 HENRY D. CHADWICK MEDAL

Friday, January 27, 2017 - is the deadline for Chadwick Medal nominations. We would like to encourage MPS committee members to nominate a deserving colleague for this prestigious medal. The Henry D.Chadwick Medal is the highest honor awarded by MPS for 'meritorious contributions in the study and treatment of tuberculosis and other thoracic diseases'. Making a nomination is easy - please write a short supporting letter or email, and arrange for someone else to write a seconding letter/email. These should then be sent to me at mcaul@lungne.org along with the nominee's CV. More information can be found on the Annual Meeting page at MassPulmonary.org. Please spread the word and let others within your organizations know about this opportunity to honor a colleague. I have attached the past Chadwick nominees to this email.

Thank you very much for your help in getting this important information out as widely as possible! You can just copy and paste the info between the double lines.

Kind regards,
Michelle
